Weekend Dance Party: Loose Squares At Beauty Bar
By Jake Guidry in Arts & Entertainment on Feb 4, 2011 6:20PM
It's been ages since Weekend Dance Party was a regular feature on Chicagoist, but sometimes you just know when it's time to resurrect an intellectual property. Spring is just around the corner, clubs are filling up their event calendars, and people need to know where to get down. Our first pick in this new year for Weekend Dance Party? Loose Squares, a night focused on the delicious sounds of juke, grime, ghetto, and garage.
Loose Squares is a new monthly at Beauty Bar, started by local DJ/producer and resident, Chrissy Murderbot. Although it's just the second Loose Squares so far, we expect things to get pretty rowdy considering how successful the first was. As with all things juke, et al, expect significant amounts of bass and bootyshaking, coordinated by two very special headliners, Traxman (Planet Mu) and DJ Gant-Man (Fool's Gold). Their juke prowess will be joined by Dave Quam and Chrissy Murderbot, making for what should be a very explosive night. And the best part? It's free. When are you all going to thank me for letting you know about all this free shit?
Loose Squares, tonight, Beauty Bar, 1444 W. Chicago Ave., 10p.m., FREE, 21+
