last night's game against the Utah Jazz was a homecoming of sorts for current Bulls Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer, who all traded in the Jazz's colors for Chicago red during the offseason. Boozer wound up being outplayed by his replacement, Paul Millsap, but the Bulls corrected their defensive lapses of the previous two losses and avoided their first three-game losing streak of the season with a 91-86 victory. Derrick Rose scored 29 points and dished out 7 assists while being shadowed by the bigger Deron Williams on both ends of the court. Boozer added 14 points and 6 rebounds.
The Blackhawks, meanwhile, snapped a two-game losing streak of their own by feasting on the hapless Edmonton OIlers in a 4-1 victory. Patrick Kane scored two goals, while Patrick Sharp and Bryan Bickell accounted for the other Hawks' tallies. The Blackhawks also made news off the ice last night, trading Jack Skille to the Florida Panthers for forward Michael Frolik and goaltender Alexander Salak. Frolik is the prize catch in this trade for GM Stan Bowman, with 8 goals and 21 assists in 52 games this season. Frolik has been among the top five Panthers in scoring in each of his first two NHL seasons.
