Simpson is asking for primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their 2-year-old son Bronx. Though this marks of very little surprise to us here at the Chicagoist offices, we feel that both of them should also be brought to the courts for their crimes against hair and fashion decency and children (c'mon Bronx Mowgli, really?). Simpson has sited Wentz's general douchery "erratic" behavior as the source of their differences. Well, it's either that or she finally had enough of Wentz using her straightening iron and borrowing her jeans without asking.
In other news Chicago Notorious Alt-Rock legends The Smashing Pumpkins can now add another arrest record to the achievements section of their vast cast of characters today. D'Arcy Wretzky, the band's former bassist, is being held behind bars at a prision in Michigan after being arrested on the charge of "Animals Running at Large" on her farm. The arrest stems from a 2009 incident where a gang of her horses decided to free themselves from their stalls of Wretzky's farm and take to the nearby town to cause havoc. Wretzky's neighbors weren't too pleased with the new band of horses (don't pardon the pun) to take the town by storm and thusly called the cops. In and of itself this was not an arrest-able offense, but when Wretzky missed four court appearances the judge decided to issue a warrant for her arrest. Love conquers all in the end; Wretzky will be released in time for Valentine's day ... how romantic.
