Blackhawks Crumble After First, Blow Big Lead

It was an emotional return to Dallas for Blackhawks goaltender Marty Turco, and it ended with a more frustrating outcome. The Hawks were at the top of their game, grabbing a 3-0 lead after the first period but blew the lead in a 4-3 shootout defeat.
Patrick Kane kicked it off the first period with a goal as Brent Seabrook and Patrick Sharp followed with Jonathan Toews adding two assists. Everything went downhill from there and it became the Stars' game for the next two periods.
The Stars retaliated against their former goaltender with a 17-shot second period. Turco stopped 32 of 35 shots on goal but missed all three of the Stars' shootout attempts.
And the icing on the cake? The Blackhawks lost three forwards in the second period. Viktor Stalberg, Fernando Pisani, and Ryan Johnson left the game and are all day-to-day with upper body injuries. The Hawks also missed Marian Hossa who was out with the flu.
The Hawks are 2-5-0 in their last seven and need to step it up quick especially after receiving another injury-plagued roster. They will try to regroup and hit the ice in Phoenix Saturday night.
