Hey Champ Casting Extras, Gypsies Need Not Apply

By Sarah Cobarrubias in Arts & Entertainment on Feb 24, 2011 5:20PM

The guys from Hey Champ want you to be in their next music video - well, only if you know how to party. The electro-dance trio will shoot a video for their Chicago-centric song “Silver City” (which used to be unofficially titled “Chi Town”), and they’re seeking locals to serve as extras. While there’s no pay, compensation will take the form of bragging rights and a crazy good time, because for the video shoot the band is throwing a wild party with drink specials and hosted beverages.

The whole thing goes down this Sunday, February 27 at 7 p.m. at a bar in Ukranian Village. The exact location is only available to those selected as extras. The band is seeking professional partiers, specifically people who:

1) can dance (no "dad" dancing*)
2) are 21+
3) are fun and not debbie downers
4) are not gypsies
5) will not drink too much where they can't take orders from the director/crew

If you think you make the cut, email your name, age, and recent photo to info@heychamp.com with "VIDEO CASTING" in the subject line. In the meantime, you can snag a free download of Winner’s Circle Volume II, which features “Silver City,” over at Hey Champ’s official site. Oh, and if you don’t make the cut, Archie Powell & the Exports also need extras for the filming of their new video the same day at Quencher’s Saloon, and it’s open to everyone.

*[Ed. Note: My dad had some pretty fancy footwork, so don't count yourself out just because you're a dad.]
