Del Valle Rejects Rahm

2011_1_24_del_valle.png Sadly, the new mayoral era is starting off pretty slowly and continues to be a bit tough for Rahm Emanuel. On top of Judy Erwin resigning her position on Emanuel's transition team in the wake of an ethics probe, Miguel Del Valle rejected Emanuel's offer to co-chair the same transition team.

Although Del Valle came in third place in the mayoral elections, he declined a position on Emanuel's transition team to work on projects that center around his original campaign issues. The center of Del Valle's focus is to develop and sustain progressive agendas in Chicago neighborhoods. Del Valle hasn't ruled out another mayoral run in the future, but it sounds like Del Valle definitely doesn't want to be sucked into the political world of Rahm Emanuel.

Tough love for Rahm these days, but we hope he's not too discouraged by these recent setbacks.
