We already love the Empty Bottle for various reasons - its intimate setting, an assortment of musical stylings, a monthly farmer’s market, and free shows every Monday night. Last month the local venue gave us yet another reason when they announced the launch of another free monthly concert series, Music.Friendly.Dancing. Named after the simple motto presented on their marquee, the new series is the Bottle’s way of saying ‘thanks’ to its dedicated customers. Message received, old friend, and you’re welcome.

Music.Friendly.Dancing. is scheduled to kick off this Monday and, as announced on WXRT earlier this week, the first band to headline the series will be Portland experimental rock band Menomena. You can RSVP for the show through Ticketweb, but be sure to arrive early, because entry is first-come, first-serve and reservations don’t guarantee admission. Stick around afterward, because another free show featuring Thin Hymns, The Armchairs, Arrah & The Ferns, and This is Cinema is scheduled directly after.

Music.Friendly.Dancing kicks off Monday, March 7 at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western, 7 p.m., Free with RSVP, 21+
