Mayor-Elect Emanuel, Meet @MayorEmanuel.

Two days after outing himself as the author of the MayorEmanuel twitter feed, Dan Sinker will be coming face to face with the man he emulated/parodied/"made fun with" this afternoon.

Sinker and Rahm Emanuel have agreed to meet on WLS' "Roe & Roeper" show this afternoon at 5pm, which is the program where the real Emanuel pledged to donate $5k to the charity of @MayorEmanuel's choice. According to a statement from WLS, Emanuel stated that "after the election, I am offering a donation to the charity of that gentleman or woman's choice, if they would come forward and identify themselves."

Hours after the Atlantic posted their story about Sinker, Emanuel stated he'd stand by that pledge and make the donation. Causes.com is matching that pledge with another $5k to Sinker's preferred charity as well, to a recipient that hasn't yet been named, but Roe Conn claims via the WLS statement that the group is "a worthy and deserving local organization."

(One suggestion? How about the "Better Government Association?")

Chicago can hear the meeting take place on 890AM and can also watch the "mayoral summit" happen in real time on NBC's Chicago Nonstop channel (Channel 5-2 on your DTV tuners). For the sake of Chicago political entertainment, should Emanuel offer Sinker a job in the communications department as official spokesperson or something like New Media consultant, we hope he takes it.
