Add Michael Jordan to the growing list of current and former players proclaiming Derrick Rose NBA MVP. Jordan made his proclamation after the Bulls' 101-84 win over his Charlotte Bobcats. As for Rose, he had a workmanlike game with 20 points and six assists, but he hit four of his six three-point shots. The Bulls showed off their bench depth last night. Kyle Korver matched Rose with 20 points of his own, while Taj Gibson added 14 and Ronnie Brewer 10. Gibson might be back in a starting role, depending on the severity of Carlos Boozer's sprained ankle. Boozer was fouled hard going to the basket by the Bobcats' Kwame Brown last night, left the game and didn't return.
In Tampa, the Blackhawks served as the perfect tonic for a Lightning team looking to get untracked offensively. Tampa Bay beat the Blackhawks 4-3 in a shootout, with Tampa's Martin St. Louis scoring once in regulation and the game-winner in the shootout, and Steven Stamkos adding his league-leading 42nd goal. The Blackhawks made the Lightning work for the win, however. Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp all scored for the Hawks, while Corey Crawford played well in goal to force the shootout.
