Both the Chicago Blackhawks and the Washington Capitals have no room to mess around. Every move, every point, every goal is critical as they fight for a playoff spot. They may be battling in separate conferences, but every game is vital.
The Capitals got the best of the Blackhawks Sunday afternoon, grabbing their eighth straight win and took down the Hawks 4-3.
Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews provided a spark of hope when he scored a power-play goal with 38.5 seconds left in regulation. Fans remained on edge in over time as Capital’s Mike Knuble scored with 1:09 left for the win.
Nick Leddy scored his third goal of the season and Tomas Kopecky added his 13th for the Blackhawks. The Hawks still gained a point but ended this road trip 1-1-2.
