For the Kids: Legoland Discovery Center MiniMaster Builder Contest

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Mar 14, 2011 6:40PM

If we were only 30 years younger, we'd be all over this contest by the Legoland Discovery Center, which is looking for its first MiniMaster Builder.

The contest is open to children ages 6-12. Kids in that age range interested in becoming the MiniMaster Builder are asked to submit a 90-second video explaining why they really really really want it (get your parents' permission) and upload the video on Legoland Discovery Center's Facebook page. No access to video equipment? No problem. Legoland Discovery Center is holding Master Model Builder video workshops every Tuesday from tomorrow through April 19 and they'll make the video for you. The top five video entries selected by facebook users will then be sent to a panel of judges, who will select the winner.

The winner will receive eight 30-minute sessions with a Master Model Builder and a Master LEGO Model Builder session for his or her entire class; a behind the scenes tour from the center's Master Model Builder; and learn secrets about Lego building.

The Legoland Discovery Center Chicago is located at 601 N. Martingale Rd. in Schaumburg.
