Morning Box Score: Blackhawks Break Through Against Sharks

By Chuck Sudo in News on Mar 15, 2011 2:30PM

Before last night the Blackhawks were unable to break through against their former goalie Antti Niemi and the San Jose Sharks. But the offensive firepower that's been a part of the team's resurgence the past month finally got to Niemi. Marian Hossa scored twice on power plays and Patrick Kane scored the 100th goal of his career as the Blackhawks doubled up the Sharks 6-3 at the united Center. In the process, the Hawks avoided a regular season sweep by San Jose and vaulted back into fourth place in the tightly packed Western Conference. The Blackhawks next face the Dallas Stars Thursday.
