In Pictures: Gaia Hits Chicago

A question came to our inbox today, from a reader named Megan:

I have scoured the internet today looking for news about the 2 story banksy-like lion/bunny that was tagged on the last remaining but soon to be torn down Cabrini Green building. It's on the side facing east in the middle/lower section of the building. I hope someone posts some news about it before it's destroyed in the very near future.

That "Banksy-like lion/bunny" and other tags that have popped up around Cabrini Green and the Northwest side belong to a New York-based female street artist named Gaia. Two regular contributors to the Chicagoist Photos Flickr pool, Gabriel X. Michael (GXM.) and Tom Fennell (TEFennell4) added their captures of Gaia's recent swing through town to the pool. Here they are and we have to say, Gaia's work is stunning.

Here's some video showing how Gaia goes about her business.
