Tournament Challenge Update

2009_03_ncaa_bball.jpg With the first weekend's slate of NCAA basketball tournament games complete, the Sweet Sixteen is set. We saw local teams like Illinois and Notre Dame bow out, as well as top-seeded Pitt. Meanwhile, a quarter of the Sweet Sixteen is filled with double digit seeds -- including three in the Southwest region.

This year's madness wrecked havoc on all of our brackets. To update the current standings in the Chicagoist Tournament Challenge, T Duvel's chi81887 entry is currently in first place with 490 points, while M. Vaicik's MVaicik 1 entry is just ten points behind, but he picked Purdue to win it all. Coming from behind is a uphill battle when your champion didn't move on the the second weekend. Our own bracket is currently sitting in 20th, but we saw one half of our Final Four sent home, which doesn't bode well for our chances of a top finish.
