Bond has been set for $50,000 for a woman charged with aggravated battery to a senior citizen and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. Lynn Baggett, 51, was arrested for allegedly pouring a five-gallon pot of boiling water and another substance over the head of her 74-year-old disabled neighbor Saturday after offering to make her dinner.

The victim suffered second-degree burns to the face, scalp, forehead, neck, back and shoulders. She was taken to Stroger Hospital and treated for the burns. Baggett was arrested the following morning. No motive is known as to why Baggett allegedly committed the act.
