2011_3_23_fox_obel.jpg Chicagorealestatedaily.com is reporting that gourmet food market Fox & Obel is trying their damnedest to maintain their Streeterville digs, in which they're behind on rent.

The court-appointed receiver for the former North Pier Terminal, which is in bankruptcy protection itself, alleges that Fox & Obel owes $330,600 in rent on their 22,600 square-foot space.Receiver Cindy O'Drobinak said in a report filed March 3 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, “For the past several months, rent payments have been sporadic and prior agreements have not been honored to date." Attorneys for Fox & Obel counter that a short-term resolution on eviction has been reached, with an aim to come to an agreement on a long-term plan to catch up on the rent. In the meantime, conscious shoppers be on the lookout for any sales from Fox & Obel.
