CMDSHFTDANCE_small.jpg After months of brainstorming, planning and endless correspondence, Chicagoist is happy to finally announce the start of a new DJ series, CMD-SHFT-DANCE.

Jake Guidry has been working hard behind the scenes in securing a night with a local venue to bring you the best local dance music. We were able to strike a partnership with one of our favorite clubs, Beauty Bar, and we couldn't be more excited about it. Our kickoff party for CMD-SHFT-DANCE is next Thursday, March 31, and will feature tunes from three of Chicago's finest disco and house DJs, Only Children, Adulture and Sparkletone. It will surely be a night of boogie.

The modus operandi of CMD-SHFT-DANCE is simple: showcase great dance music for our readers. There are no boundaries, no genres that we are sticking to (so long as you can groove to it, we consider it). Our pledge is to continually strive to build CMD-SHFT-DANCE into one of the city's best nights for up-and-coming talent in dance music. We hope you come along for the ride.

Oh, and be sure to get ready for CMD-SHFT-DANCE with our Chicagoist mixes from Sparkletone and Adulture.

CMD-SHFT-DANCE is Thursday, March 31, Beauty Bar, 1444 W. Chicago Ave., 10pm, $3 after 11pm, 21+
