Bulls' Rose, Thibodeau Honored in March

The Bulls posted a 13-3 record in March largely because of the play of All-Star point guard Derrick Rose. Rose set a career high in assists with 17 against Milwaukee last week and tied his high scoring mark with 42. He also set career marks in three-pointers made with 6 and in free throws made and attempted with 18 and 21, respectively. It’s because of this that the NBA announced Friday that Rose was named the NBA’s Eastern Conference player of the month for March. Rose averages 25 points per game and 7.9 assists.
Rose wasn’t the only one honored for his work in March. Head coach Tom Thibodeau was named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month. Under the guidance of the first-year coach, the Bulls rose (get it?) to first place in the East. It was the second time this season both Rose and Thibodeau were so honored. Rose earned Player of the Month in November, while Thibodeau won Coach of the Month in January.
