The Rumble is a monthly series showcasing local bands in several U.S. cities. Created by LA-based label Future Sounds back in 2007, the series was intended to promote San Francisco’s music community. Since then, The Rumble has grown to include a handful of major cities, and this year it will extend to include its ninth city - Chicago.

The first Chicago installment will take place a week from tomorrow, April 12 in the intimate confines of The Hideout. The lineup features three local bands: garage-influenced psych-rockers The Great Society Mind Destroyers, indie-rock 4-piece Pet Lions, and garage-punk quintet Rambos.

The event is sponsored by a handful of local labels, blogs, and companies, including Cream Team, Giant System, Loud Loop Press, and Reckless Records, among others. This event is FREE, and since Pabst is also a sponsor you can look forward to all-night specials on the already cheap brew. RSVP through Eventbrite to secure a spot, and keep an eye on Future Sounds’ blog for updates on this and future Chicago installments of The Rumble.

The Rumble takes place Tuesday, April 12 at The Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia, 9 p.m., FREE, 21+
