The CHIRP Record Fair is upon us! It’s a two-day one-stop shop for all your musically obsessive needs, filled with tunes in every conceivable format and all sort of related merchandise. Oh, and there’s some craft-y stuff too, so if you want to drag along a loved one who doesn’t share your passion for music esoterica you can fool them and tell them it’s just a craft fair with an unusual number of attendees in indie rock T-shirts. (And if you head there tomorrow between 10-11 a.m. you can take in a sweet DJ set from Chicagoista and CHIRP volunteer Kim Bellware).
Chicago Journeymen Plumbers, Local 130, U.A. 1340 W Washington, April 9-10, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., $5 with any ad or this flyer [PDF].

Wrock Wreggie’s bills itself as a “Wizard Wrock Festival and Party.” This year’s event at Reggie’s (2109 S. State St.) is a 17-and-up event featuring 11 bands over two nights. The festivities kick off at 9 p.m. tonight and tomorrow.

Wine
John and Erica Witte, owners of Lincoln Park wine shop cum art gallery The Poison Cup, are celebrating their second anniversary in business tonight with a Gran Fiesta featuring Spanish wines, wine makers, live guitar and passed noshes. The festivities start at 6 p.m. at 1128 W. Armitage and it’s all free.

Beer
Small Bar Division Street (2049 W. Division St.) is hosting a special tapping of three of Avery Brewing Co.’s finest beers: Joe’s Pilsner, DuganA Double IPA, and Ellie’s Brown Ale. This will be the first time Joe’s Pilsner (which hits shelves in cans later this month) is available in Chicago. The tappign runs from 7-10 p.m.
