Join the "Food Truck Summit" On April 19th

We hear about a lot of "summit meetings" in the news - they usually involve world leaders, lots of bowing and attempts to avoid armageddon. Luckily, next week, Chicago will host a much more productive and entertaining summit - a Food Truck Summit. To celebrate her new book, Food Trucks: Dispatches and Recipes from the Best Kitchens on Wheels, Heather Shouse (Senior Food and Drink Correspondant for Time Out Chicago) is hosting a meeting of the food trucks of Chicago. Do you live in a far-flung neighborhood? Or do you just find it exhausting to track food trucks on twitter? Now is your chance to try all of them in one place.

The party will happen on April 19th, from 7-10 PM, in the parking lot of the Goose Island Brewpub. It's free to attend, but bring plenty of cash. You'll want to try out the trucks, and buy a copy of the new book. The food trucks in attendance include:Flirty Cupcakes

  • The Southern Mac and Cheese
  • Sweet Miss Giving's
  • Tamalli Space Churros
  • 5411 Empanadas
  • Hummingbird Kitchen
  • gaztro-wagon

Goose Island is also offering a limited-edition beer, brewed by Shouse in collaboration with brewer Jared Rouben. We can't imagine a better way to spend a Tuesday evening.

The Food Truck Summit (and Goose Island Brewpub) is located at 1800 N Clybourn Ave.
