Roberto Luongo showed what an elite goaltender can do when staked to a quick lead, shutting out the Blackhawks 2-0 in Game 1 of their Stanley Cup playoff series. Luongo made certain that first period goals from Christopher Higgins and Jannik Hansen, then shut down the Blackhawks with a 33-save performance. Corey Crawford was stellar in being able to hold the Sedin twins scoreless and played marvelous in goal all game, but the Canucks were the deeper team all game and played with a purpose after being kicked out of the previous two Stanley Cup playoffs by this same, but markedly different, Blackhawks team. Game 2 is tomorrow night.
