Blackhawks 3, Canucks 4
It's been said time and time again before and during the playoffs, that the Chicago Blackhawks knocked the Canucks out the last two seasons. Where did that team go?
This season is a completely different story after struggling to make the playoffs, and now the Canucks have a 2-0 series lead over the Blackhawks after beating them 4-3 Friday night.
Ben Smith had two goals for the Hawks, Viktor Stalberg scored and Corey Crawford made 23 saves.
The Hawks have lost the first game in the first-round both times before bouncing back to win Game 2 and the series and it looked as though it may have happened Friday. The Canucks proved however that this is a very different season and the defending Stanley Cup Champions are in for a ride.
The Blackhawks continue their playoff push and will host Vancouver Sunday night.
Cubs 0, Rockies 5
Cubs starting pitcher Matt Garza continued to struggle after surrendering 5 runs and 7 hits in six innings in the Cubs 5-0 loss to the Rockies Friday.
The Cubs offense was pretty much absent which made way for Jhoulys Chacin to toss a six-hitter for his first career complete game. Garza is use to the lack of offensive support as in the three games he's started, the Cubs have scored 4 runs combined and 0 in the last two outings.
The Cubs will continue their three-game set in Colorado Saturday night.
White Sox 3, Angels 4
Filling in for rehabbing Jake Peavy, Phil Humber took a 4-3 White Sox loss to the Angels Friday night. He gave up 4 runs in five innings but only two were earned. He struck out four and gave up 6 hits.
White Sox slugger Adam Dunn continued to be well, Adam Dunn and smacked a two-run home run but the rest of the White Sox offense wasn't as keen as they were held to 5 hits, the Angels with 10.
The Sox will continue their series vs. the Angels at home Saturday. Hey, at least we have the Bulls, right?
