Chicagoist Presents: CMD+SHFT+DANCE Vol. 2
By Jake Guidry in Arts & Entertainment on Apr 19, 2011 7:00PM
Did everyone enjoy last month's CMD+SHFT+DANCE? Were you moved by the smooth, sultry sounds of Only Children, Lady Foursquare and Sparkletone? Yes? Wait, what's that? You want more? For free? And you want to see Editor-in-Chief Chuck Sudo dancing seductively on the bar? Well, we can guarantee all of the above on April 28th for Vol. 2 of CMD+SHFT+DANCE at Beauty Bar.
Indeed, CMD+SHFT+DANCE rolls on for its second installment of showcasing Chicago's finest DJs, and we're very excited about this lineup. This time around we're bringing a techno/house flair to the proceedings as Hernan Sanchez, one of Chicago's most established house music fixtures in this city, will headline. Sanchez brings a wide variety of influences to the decks, all of which permeate his "polyrhythmic approach" to DJing. He's got a devoted following that's seen him play all over this city, from Smart Bar to underground parties, and April 28th should be no different.
What's got us equally excited is Sanchez's support, the techno-savvy Savile and Olin. Both have been putting out fantastic original productions, including two incredible collaborations, "Bird In The Storm" and "Horizon", the latter which will be released as a 12" on Wazi Wazi this summer. The tracks have been on repeat for us for a while now, so we suggest you check them out. Savile and Olin hold prominent positions on our local radar, and we're expecting breakouts in 2011. We're very pleased to bring these two in as all that unfolds before us.
