Having recently been tapped to pass strange for Bailiwick Chicago, presumably without the help of non-inflammatory medicine or a laxative, local soul stars JC Brooks And The Uptown Sound are plenty busy. Good thing they stopped in to Coach House Sounds for a quick little session back in March. Otherwise, we might not have gotten two new tracks from the band.

Coach House Sounds, the analog-to-online live performance site who're no strangers to this here site, posted the Uptown Sound's session on Tuesday. Coach House main man Matt Baron wrote that "hard to keep the camera sturdy" during the session "because the grooves were so fresh and relentless."

To hear two new cuts, "Chicago 70" and "Straight Lines," which are indeed fresh, but a little bit more laid-back and mid-tempo than Baron's description would indicate, go here.
