A female coyote "trapped" in a Loop Metra Station at 414 S. LaSalle was rescued by workers this morning after a call came in around 7 a.m. about the "sad-looking" animal trotting about. The coyote was discovered by a tunnel where patrons get off the trains.

Along with some confusion about the gender of the coyote, it appears that the coyote was super depressed to be hanging out by a Metra station:

Police were called about 6:30 a.m. because a surprised Metra agent making rounds saw the coyote. "You'd never expect to find a wild animal there," according to a Central District police sergeant, who said no one was injured.

"He [coyote] looked really sheepish and really sad. It just sat there," the sergeant said. He looked frazzled, it was like Wile E. Coyote after a rough day with the Road Runner."

The coyote was rescued with a "catch pole" and was in good health. Although the coyote did not have any obvious tracking devices on her, she will be more closely examined today by members of Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation.
