Baseball Box Score: Buehrle Wins No. 150, Russell Flames Out in LA

By Chuck Sudo in News on May 3, 2011 3:40PM

White Sox 6, Orioles 2

Mark Buehrle turned in a typical Buehrle performance to earn his 150th career win last night, scattering 8 hits over 6-2/3 innings. More important for the Sox, they fielded well and the bats finally woke up. Paul Konerko hit two home runs and Alex Rios added a jack to pace the Sox offense and salvage a win in their four-game series with Baltimore. The Sox now face their arch rival Minnesota Twins in a two game series starting tonight. Edwin Jackson takes the mound.

Dodgers 5, Cubs 2

Even this White Sox fan is saying mercy for James Russell. The Cubs pitcher gave up five runs (four earned) in 4-2/3 innings to take the loss at Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers Andre Ethier extended his hitting streak to 28 games, while Alfonso Soriano jacked his major league-leading 11th home run in the loss.
