Good Morning, everyone. On this date in 1905 Robert Sengstacke Abbott published the first issue of the Chicago Defender, which quickly became one of the most important African American-owned newspapers in the country, encouraging the Great Migration and voicing the discontent of southern blacks moving north be printing what they were afraid to whisper among themselves. The weather today to mark that momentous occasion is picturesque. Expect partly cloudy skies with a projected high of 68 degrees.
