Morning Box Score: White Sox Go Extras to Beat M's

By Chuck Sudo in News on May 9, 2011 2:20PM

White Sox 5, Mariners 2 (10 Innings)

Real men wear pink, apparently. Paul Konerko donned pink cleats in honor of Mother's Day yesterday and rapped out a five-hit day, Mark Buehrle pitched eight strong innings before turning things over to Sergio Santos and the Sox broke a 2-2 tie with three runs in the tenth inning to win their series since taking three of four from Tampa. Alexei Ramirez hit the game winning RBI, a sharp double to left-center off Seattle closer Brandon League to easily score Brent Morel. Adam Dunn and Alex Rios provided insurance RBIs. The White Sox now head to California to take on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. (9:05 p.m.CSN, WSCR-AM 670)
