Charles Best and Sherry Best, the brother-in-law and sister-in-law of Melissa Best, the Round Lake Park woman who was found dead in a van in an apartment building on April 15, have been charged with hiding her death from authorities.

Sherry Best has also been charged with drug-induced homicide in connection with her sister-in-law's death, a felony that carries a minimum 15-year prison sentence. Melissa Best died of an apparent heroin overdose: Sherry Best allegedly provided the drugs.

Melissa Best's husband, Clinton, isn't in a forgiving mood toward his brother and sister-in-law.

“To allow someone to die and then hide them to the point where they cannot be found for ten days — causing us to have to worry about what has happened to them — shows just how heartless and cowardly these people are," Clinton Best said.

Clinton Best said they should be punished severely. He and his brother work together at the same Waukegan tool manufacturing plant, yet Charles Best never told his brother, "Yeah, your wife OD'd, man."
