Yesterday, Gothamist formally launched the new, full "pretty" design mode for Chicago, Washington, DC, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Gothamist has already had this mode for a couple of weeks and Publisher Jake Dobkin explained the method to the madness to his readers that generated some spirited discussion.

I know there are some of you out there who are resistant to change, whether it was the DISQUS comment system rollout, or the switch to summary RSS feeds, or this. If you prefer the classic blog mode, you can still access it here. It'll put a cookie in your web browser cache that will expire in a couple of months. The blog view will always be accessible for those of you who feel more comfortable with it.

But we do ask you to give the "pretty" mode a chance. I, for one, am pretty excited about it. I also want to hear your (rational) thoughts on it, whether in the comments, via e-mail, or via the site's Twitter feed and Facebook page.
