Morning Box Score: Peavy Goes the Distance Against Cleveland

Jake Peavy had one of those starts that has pundits simultaneously proclaiming he's returned completely from latissimus dorsi surgery and wondering if it's too soon for Peavy to throw a 111-pitch, three hit, eight-strikeout, no walk complete game in only his second game back from surgery. Regardless, Peavy was throwing nasty stuff last night while Cleveland's Justin Masterson had his way with most of the Sox lineup. Adam Dunn's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first proved to be the only run of the game, and the only one Peavy needed.
Momentum seemed to shift between the Cubs and Marlins with each frame. the two teams were knotted at 5 runs each in the eighth inning when Marlin Byrd's two-run shot off Edward Mujica made a winner of Jeff Samardzija. Carlos Marmol earned his ninth save of the season. the Cubs hope to sweep the Marlins tonight.
