Bluesman Jake La Botz has been in town recording a new record that will be released later this year. Now he's taking to the road and kicking off a tour with a concert at Elbo Room (2871 N. Lincoln) tomorrow night at 9 p.m.

It's being billed as the largest tapping of Sierra Nevada in the history of Chicago. Fountainhead will be serving Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Fritz & Kens Ale, Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Jack & Kens Ale, Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Charlie, Fred & Kens Bock in bottles, while the draft handles will be commandeered by Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Brewers Reserve Grand Cru, Southern Hemisphere Harvest, Sierra Nevada Ovila Dubbel, Beer Camp - California Common, Beer Camp - Double IPA, Best Bitter, Blonde ale, and Brown ale. (1970 W. Montrose, 5-10 p.m.)

8 x 8 at the Hungry Brain features eight performers doing a single eight-minute set each, hosted by Renée Schultz. Tonight's featured performers include comedians Saurin Choksi, Jeanie Doogan, Ever Mainard, Jeff Steinbrunner, Aaron Weaver, and essays by Robyn Pennacchia and our very own Aaron Cynic. (2319 W. Belmont, 9:30 p.m., no cover)
