Pencil This In

Lockwood Restaurant is hosting a 4-course dinner next Tuesday, June 14th that will showcase sustainable wines. Chef Gregory Elliott has teamed up with Napa Station winery to create the menu, which includes a refreshingly seasonal chilled English pea soup with radishes, rhubarb and lavender and a Pinn Oak Ridge rack of lamb with farro, smoked onion and Michigan cherries. The dinner starts at 7, and the cost is $75. Call 312-917-3404 for reservations.

Film

After a week off, the Northwest Chicago Film Society is resumes their current schedule with a screening of the 1960 Randolph Scott film Comanche Station. Scott sets out to rescue Nancy Gates after she’s kidnapped by Comanches and then sold to a pair of outlaws for all of five dollars. This is the last time director Budd Boetticher and Scott would make a picture together, (Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave., 7:30 p.m., $5)

The latest installment of The Liquid Burning of Apocalyptic Bard Letters at Black rock tonight will feature Prank-Machine.com's Jeremiah Watkins, comedian Jeremy Solomon,
ChicagoNow blogger Ana "Accidentally Sexy" Fernatt, Jeff Phillips and our own Aaron Cynic. Come for the readings, stay for the $5 cheeseburgers, $3.50 local beers and $2.50 PBR. (3614 N. Damen, 8:30 p.m.)
