Patrick Fahy's predecessor made some darn pretty pastries - big shoes to fill, but we're sure he can handle it.
- We reported last week that award-winning pastry chef Patrick Fahy had left Blackbird to find a job that would, according to Paul Kahan, "allow him to start a family." The Stew now tells us that Fahy has found a new home at the Sofitel, the job recently vacated by Nomi Kitchen pastry chef Meg Galus. Apparently, after fielding several job offers outside of the city, Fahy decided to stay. One more reason to check out the Sofitel.

- Ipsento Cafe, which Grub Street Chicago reported had to close earlier this week for financial reasons (unpaid back taxes) is back open! We confirmed with the cafe that they are open for business, as of this morning - and we're glad to hear it.

- Taverna 750, the new Lakeview Italian spot, opened for business last night, according to Eater. Grub Street has the full menu, which promises small plates, homemade limoncello and craft cocktails by Charles Joly. Finally, decent drinks in Boystown!
