This Saturday, June 11, at the Kenmore Live Studio, there will be a free cooking demonstration and tasting to benefit the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Chef Judson Todd Allen and Kamehachi restaurant will be sponsoring demonstrations of Japanese cooking, with free samples, and Tsukasa Taiko will perform traditional Japanese Music. The American Red Cross will be there, accepting donations. This is a great event to drop in to, have some fun, and do some good. The demonstrations will run from 6-8 p.m. (678 N. Wells Street)

Beer

New Holland Brewing brings its "Hatter Days" celebration to Chicago tonight, in honor of its 14th anniversary. The Michigan brewery will be tapping Black Hatter Black IPA; Farmhouse Hatter Belgian Style IPA; Oaked Hatter IPA aged in Oak Barrels; Rye Hatter IPA with some Rye; the standard Mad Hatter IPA and Imperial Hatter Imperial IPA. Tastings will be happening at the following venues - Whole Foods (1550 N. Kingsbury); Toons (3857 N. Southport); Fountainhead (1968 W. Montrose, with Mad Hatter in Cask); Sheffield's (3258 N. Sheffield); Cocktail (3359 N. Halsted); Four Moons (1847 W. Roscoe); Red Ivy (3525 N. Clark); Wild Goose (4265 N. Lincoln); Brownstone (3937 N. Lincoln); Bar On Buena (910 W. Buena, Mad Hatter in Cask); Mrs. Murphy's & Sons Irish Bistro (3905 N. Lincoln); Tap House Grill (123 W. Washington, Oswego); Long Room (1612 W. Irving Park); Tap House Grill (3341 Main Street, St. Charles).

Bar Crawl

Few things are more inspired than a pub crawl dedicated to Steve Buscemi. But that's what's happening tomorrow, starting 6 p.m. at Reggie's (2105 S. State). Come dressed as your favorite Buscemi character ("Shut the fuck up, Donny!"). A makeup artist will be set up on the bus to create Buscemi's eyes for participants. DJ Hecknotechno will sampling Steve Buscemi quotes into his sets on the bus. there will also be a Buscemi look alike and Steve Buscemi Jeopardy. Cost for the crawl is $15 and tickets are available here.
