Two weeks ago, we profiled a new charity organization: In Chefs Hands. In Chefs Hands connects chefs and individuals with special needs, and was inspired by the work of Chef Rodelio Aglibot and Scott Crane, a foodie with muscular dystrophy. The organization is holding its first fundraiser today, and the Sun-Times reported yesterday that Crane died on Saturday.

Crane, who was 23, was a lifelong foodie with a blog, a cookbook deal and a passion for food - and a desire to do something meaningful with his passion. His work with Aglibot improved his health and gave his family hours of happiness and great memories that they will have forever. The charity he co-founded will continue. Tickets are available for tonight's fundraiser at the door - get out and drink to his memory, and to the good work this organization will do in the coming months.
