Music
Art Brut plays Double Door tonight, and while the group’s albums have grown stale and tiresome to our ears, the band’s live show remains a whole bunch of fun. More interesting to us is the opener, Reptar. Their debut EP, the unfortunately named, Oblangle Fizz, Y'all, is filled with bouncy doses of amped up dance rock that showcases a band still finding their voice but showing promise. “Houseboat Babies” is the band’s current single and we’ve got it here for you to download and check out. Tonight at 9 p.m., Double Door, 1572 N Milwaukee, 21+

Music
Jazz giant Charles Mingus died from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig's disease. The Mingus Awareness Project, a group of musicians united to raise awareness of ALS, as well as Mingus's work and life. (Mingus Awareness Project co-founder Dan Godston's father also died from ALS.) Tonight, the Mingus Awareness Project is performing a benefit concert for the Les Turner ALS Foundation at Martyrs'. They'll be playing works from Mingus, Eric Dolphy and others. ($20 cover, $15 students, 8 p.m.)

Bike Tour
This week is Bike to Work Week (and oh, how we miss that, working from home). One of the events in conjunction with Bike to Work Week is a mini-tour of downtown that kicks off from Buckingham Fountain at 6:30 p.m. today.

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Anthony (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
