Drew Peterson and Rob Lowe - Separated at Birth?

That headline isn't an April Fool's prank. The AV Club Chicago was first with the news that actor Rob Lowe is spending his Parks and Recreation summer hiatus literally filming a Lifetime television movie based on the Drew Peterson case. Jim Belushi was apparently unavailable.

The movie, tentatively titled The Drew Peterson Story a.k.a. Ladykiller, is based on Joseph Hosey's book Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson - now there's your title - also will star The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco as DPete's missing fourth wife, Stacy.

At the very least, this indicates that even "Wifetime" feels the need to add some glamor to their serialization of Peterson. Really, to look at the genuine article you'd think DPete would have no kavorka whatsoever. Then again, Peterson success in romance (such as it is) has turned all notions we've had about Love and Marriage in Will County on its collective head.

The big question in the room: can Lowe play a jagoff? Rent St. Elmo's Fire on Netflix. That should answer the question. If not, here's some video.

Peterson has his own recommendations for casting.

"If I was ever in a movie, I was hoping that I would be portrayed by Denzel Washington, but I guess Rob Lowe is OK," Peterson told his lawyer, Joel Brodsky.

Then the jailed Peterson took a shot at Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow, who is overseeing the prosecution of Peterson for the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

"Only Al Lewis could portray State's Attorney James Glasgow," Peterson said, according to Brodsky. The late actor was best known for his role as Grandpa Munster in the TV series, "The Munsters."

See what we mean about being a jagoff?
