Chicago's premier punk festival Riot Fest announced most of its lineup today and this year promises to be as amazing as years past.

Headliners include Weezer, Social Distortion and The Descendents, along with Los Angeles punk legends X, with one more major headliner to be announced on Friday. Riot Fest founder Michael A. Petryshyn said via press release “The final headliner announcement is very special for me personally, and almost needless to say, it's something that I never thought would happen.” Since the organizers also pulled out Youth of Today from their hats, we can only speculate that this last headliner will be something worth waiting for.

The rest of the list promises to please plenty. Helmet, All, D Generation, The Business, Strike Anywhere, Macabre and so many more will take various stages across Chicago from October 5 - 9. We're also considering taking a road trip to Philadelphia, which will host its own Riot Fest on September 24. We're more than happy to pile in a van to see Hot Water Music, Plow United and the Dead Milkmen. This year's Chicago venues will be the Congress, Bottom Lounge, Double Door, Cobra Lounge, and the AAA Lounge. A much appreciated shuttle bus will ferry fans from venue to venue. Early bird passes already sold out and five day passes will most likely disappear pretty quickly, so get them while they're hot. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10:00AM.
