Food Trucks are Going to the Dogs

By Anthony Todd in Food on Jun 21, 2011 4:40PM

2011_6_21LickLick.jpg Lick Lick, a new food "truck" (more of a cart) for dogs, has hit the streets. We can't tell if this is the moment that food trucks jump the shark or if dog owners everywhere will converge on the new venture. Now, while you're waiting for your mac and cheese or your designer cupcake, you can buy food for your pampered pooch. Lick Lick offers "preservative free gourmet dog treats" and "artisanal ice cream."

According to Time Out Chicago: "[The] cart peddles "artisanal" doggie ice cream in flavors like tuna-cranberry, carrot-carob, peanut-butter-bacon, green-apple-cheddar and strawberry-almond-mint, as well as treats like "Maru Macaroons," which the press release describes as "wheat-free little jeweled clusters of bacon, coconut and cranberries." Goodness gracious - our lunch today doesn't look anywhere near that good. Maybe we should buy some artisanal dog treats. You can find the cart at future Food Truck Tuesdays, or follow them on twitter for tracking information.
