Self-Defense Seminar

RedEye's Tracy Swartz of "Going Public" is hosting a free self-defense seminar by the Guardian Angels tomorrow at 6 p.m. The class will cover self-defense tactics and allow participants to practice with The Guardian Angels.

Please RSVP to this event on Facebook so Red Eye has an idea of how many people are coming. (Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Ave., next to Tribune Tower)

Wine Tasting

This Thursday, June 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Lush Wine and Spirits, is your chance to learn about Greek Wines. For most of us, our experience with the products of Greek Vineyards is limited to retsina and roditis - but there’s a whole world of fine Greek wine out there for you to discover. Giota Englisis of Athenee Importers and Tassos Ballas from Domaine Hatzimichalis, will be sampling six different greek wines, red and white, for lush customers. If you want to guarantee a spot, email Rachel@lushwineandspirits.com. (1412 West Chicago Avenue)

Readings

The Logan Square Literary Review commences its monthly reading series 7 p.m. today by presenting: THE LSLR READS: An Evening of Live Readings at Bucket O' Blood Books and Records. Featured readings by Brad Brubaker, Amy L. Hayden, Georgi Johnston, Muyassar Kurdi, Jami Sailor and Pete Michael Smith. (2307 N. Milwaukee Ave.)

Cancellation

The lunch and charity event at C-House that we mentioned last week has been cancelled. The event, which was going to showcase female chefs and was to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository, will be rescheduled at a later date.
