CDOT, CPD Setting Up "Pedestrian Sting" Tonight

By Chuck Sudo in News on Jun 22, 2011 7:00PM

Motorists in the vicinity of LaSalle and Chestnut between 8 and 10 p.m. tonight may want to remember to come to a complete stop and allow pedestrians to cross the street. The Police Department and Department of Transportation are conducting a crosswalk enforcement sting operation at that intersection tonight

Undercover cops posing as pedestrians will be crossing the street during those hours in an attempt to see if drivers come to complete stops and allow the pedestrians to cross completely before proceeding. Drivers who fail to do so will be ticketed and possibly fined anywhere from $50 to $500.
