By Chuck Sudo in News on Jun 23, 2011 3:40PM

White Sox 4, Cubs 3

The White Sox hold the second-best record in interleague play since it began in 1997 and have won 17 straight series against National League teams going back to 2007. Few mean more than winning a series against the Cubs. the Sox took two of three at U.S. Cellular Field against the North Side Nine thanks to AJ Pierzynski's two-run triple. Pierzynski later scored on a Brent Lillibridge squeeze bunt.

Pierzynski also got into an argument with winning pitcher Jake Peavy after Peavy was pulled in the sixth inning. Peavy didn't have his best stuff but managed to gut through 5-1/3 innings of work to get the win.

The Cubs had a great opportunity to tie the game in the eighth inning with the speedy tony Campagna on third and one out. But Jesse Crain struck out Koyie Hill and Kosuke Fukodome to get out of the jam. Sergio Santos nailed down his 14th save of the season to to seal the victory.

Carlos Pena hit his third home run in as many nights for the Cubs
