Hideout's "A Day in the Country" An All Day Hootenanny

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 24, 2011 9:20PM

The Hideout has always been a welcome home for country music in all its forms, from bluegrass and Honky Tonk to alt-country and roots music. So this Sunday's all-day "A Day in the Country" event brings a little something for everyone.

Got a jones for a jug band? The Sanctified Grumblers should be a perfect fit. Want to cry in your beer? The Lawrence Peters Outfit and the Gin Palace Jesters can provide the soundtrack. Want the Fear of God put into your soul? The Hoyle Brothers never fail at that.

Those are just a few of the 13-band lineup for "A Day in the Country," which has turned into Hideout's most anticipated events on their musical calendar. The heaping amounts of barbecue available make a nice complement.

The Hideout's "A Day in the Country" begins 2 p.m. Sunday. Purchase tickets here.
