One More Reason Carol Marin is Awesome

Here at Chicagoist there's a lot of respect (and unrequited crushes) on Carol Marin. Time Out Chicago gives us another reason to swoon for the venerable journalist. Turns out she has a tattoo.

It's not one of those stupid tribal bands and it certainly isn't a tramp stamp. Marin tells TOC's Jake Malooley she decided to get the tattoo after her then-16-year-old son Josh asked if he could get one. Marin allowed it, and decided to get one with him.

Marin's tattoo, located above her right shoulder, is of a multicolored compass to symbolize her directional impairment. Marin also told Malooley, “I went looking for a peace symbol but all had ghoulish faces and skulls in the background."

The closest we have to a tattoo is a piece of drafting pencil lead stuck in our right knee. So kudos to Marin.
