New Location, Improvements, at Green City Market Tomorrow

One of our favorite vendors, Leaning Shed Farms, will be even more accessible with the new layout!
Anyone who went to Green City Market (as we did) on Saturday saw a strange thing. About a block to the south, there was a grid of unoccupied paths laid out, like a ghost farmers market was taking place at the same time. Now we know why - Green City Market announced today that it was moving (slightly) starting this Wednesday.

The new location, just south of the original, includes permanent walkways. This is important because the traffic last year looked to be doing a serious number on the grass, and this year's new arrangement along the existing paths has been a bit of a traffic nightmare. The new walkways have underground drainage, so they won't turn into a soggy mess if it rains. The work was a collaboration between the city, GCM, the Chicago Park District and Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects, and will hopefully facilitate the ever-growing crowds who flock to the market every weekend.

If you want to visit, the market starts up tomorrow morning at 7 AM.
