Admission to the Museum of Contemporary Art is free today, which would be ideal to check out the live installation "Naked" by artists Eiko & Koma or to check out the recently renovated MCA. (220 E. Chicago Ave.)
Film Screenings
Although it incorporated sound effects and a classic scene where he sang in carnival Italian and French, Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times was his last silent film before he made the transition to sound in full. the Possibility Playground (643 W. 31st St.) will screen Modern Times tomorrow night at 9 p.m. with live musical accompaniment from the Flying Skeletons.
Music
Foo Fighters' leader Dave Grohl had this enodrsement of guitarist Kaki King: "There are some guitar players that are good and there are some guitar players that are really fucking good. And then there's Kaki King." King does deliver the goods, with a mastery of lap steel guitar, multiple acoustic styles, tunings and pickings and a penchant for experimentation and constant evolution of her sound. King plays at SPACE in Evanston tonight in a show postponed from a couple months back. Tickets are available online, or they're $25 at the door. Get them online. (1245 Chicago Ave., Evanston)
