Fox Twitter Account Hacked to Say Obama Is Dead

Twitter account @foxnewspolitics was allegedly hacked early Monday morning and sent out several tweets falsely claiming that President Barack Obama was shot and killed while campaigning in Iowa. It seems Twitter has taken the page down now, but we were able to get a few screenshots of the tweets before it went. President Obama is spending Independence Day with his family at the White House. Fox News says they have alerted the U.S. Secret Service. Reuters reports that a group called The ScriptKiddies has claimed responsibility for hacking the account and sending the tweets.

Typically we'd be laughing at a joke made at Fox's expense, but this is way over the line. What a cruel thing to say. This is the Fourth of July, not April Fools' Day. And even then...
