New hotspot Ethyl's Beer & Wine Dive (324 S. Racine) is getting into the food truck massing with their inaugural Food Truck Thursdays. Participating trucks include Taquero Fusion, Gaztro-Wagon, Tamale Spaceship, Slide Ride, 5411 Empanadas, More Cupcakes and Alexander Beetle Bakeshop and Fido to Go.

Film

Native Son author Richard Wright starred as his protagonist Bigger Thomas in Pierre Chenal's 1951 film adaptation. The filming was in Buenos Aries, which stands in capably for Chicago and was chosen by Wright and Chenal because the former feared Hollywood would cast an all-white production to appease Southern film exhibitors. The Northwest Chicago Film Society screens Native Son in a restored 35mm print from the Library of Congress tonight at 7:30 p.m. (Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave., $5.)

Comedy

Hannibal Buress comes home for an amazing run of sixteen shows at Zanie's that kicks off tonight. (1548 N. Wells St., today through July 10 and July 13-17.)
